TSH Daily: Bucks Clinch NBA Cup, Falcons Bench Cousins, Yankees Land Bellinger & McGregor’s Big Fight Rumor

What's good, sports fanatics? I'm Michael, and you're tuned into the spiciest sports tea on the airwaves—it's your daily Sports Hangover update for December 18, 2024.

First up, the Milwaukee Bucks drained 17 three-pointers to clinch the NBA Cup title, trouncing the Oklahoma City Thunder 97-81. Giannis Antetokounmpo was a beast, racking up a triple-double with 26 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists. Damian Lillard chipped in 23 points.

In the NFL, the Atlanta Falcons have benched veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins in favor of rookie Michael Penix Jr. Coach Arthur Smith is shaking things up, hoping Penix can inject some much-needed energy into the offense.

Over in the Bronx, the New York Yankees have acquired outfielder Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs, sending pitcher Cody Poteet the other way. The Yanks are banking on Bellinger's bat to add some pop to their lineup.

In college hoops, No. 18 UCLA extended their winning streak to nine games with a commanding 111-75 victory over Prairie View A&M. Guard Andrews led the charge with 21 points.

Switching gears to the octagon, Conor McGregor is in talks for a boxing exhibition against Logan Paul in India. McGregor mentioned he's in "preliminary agreements" with the family of billionaire Mukesh Ambani for the bout.

And in our "Sports Hangover Rumors" segment, the NBA is shaking up the All-Star Game format. This season, expect an All-Star tournament featuring four teams and three games all in one night. The aim? To crank up the competition and keep fans on the edge of their seats.

That’s all the juice I’ve got for today’s Sports Hangover. This is Michael, telling you to stay thirsty for more sports drama. Peace out!
