Two different games

The Ravens' own numbers tell it best. In the first half Baltimore outgained Cincinnati 258 to 59, went 8 of 11 on third down and held the ball for 22:20. The Bengals had two first downs and were shut out. But Baltimore only led 13-0, because three trips inside the 15 produced six points.

In the second half Cincinnati gained 298 yards and scored 35. Per BaltimoreRavens.com, citing Next Gen Stats, Joe Burrow went 16 of 18 for 249 yards and four touchdowns after halftime, a perfect 158.3 rating. The touchdown passes went to Mike Gesicki, Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase and Drew Sample. Samaje Perine added a 1-yard run.

The turning point came on the first play of the fourth quarter. Baltimore, down one, went for it on fourth-and-2 from the Cincinnati 12 and threw incomplete. The Bengals drove 88 yards the other way.

Baltimore's problems

Lamar Jackson missed his third straight game with an ankle injury, and the Ravens are 1-2 without him, per AP. Tyler Huntley threw for a career-high 298 yards with a touchdown, a 48-yarder to Zay Flowers, and an interception, and he was sacked four times. Derrick Henry was held to 45 yards on 17 carries.

The Ravens have been outscored 48-0 in the second half of their last two games and are 4-3, 0-2 in the division.

Injury notes from Tuesday

Per NFL.com's Oct. 27 roundup, the Bengals placed tight end Erick All on injured reserve. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported All is believed to have torn his ACL in this game. Ravens rookie guard Olaivavega Ioane, a first-round pick who had started every game, suffered an MCL sprain and will miss "a little time," per NFL Network.

Up next

Cincinnati (4-2) hosts Tennessee. Baltimore goes to Buffalo on Sunday, and the Ravens' site says Jackson could be back for it. That would change the outlook in a hurry.
