Packers linebacker Zaire Franklin (shin) is out for Thursday night's game against the Panthers, and Green Bay receiver Matthew Golden and Carolina pass rusher Jaelan Phillips did not practice Monday or Tuesday. Week 8 kicks off at Lambeau Field, with the 3-3 Panthers visiting the 4-3 Packers at 8:15 PM ET on Prime Video. Both teams' Monday and Tuesday reports were estimates, since neither held a full practice. Final game statuses come out Wednesday.
As of Oct. 28, 2026, 9:38 AM PT. Facts checked against the sources listed below.
Green Bay
- LB Zaire Franklin (shin) will not play, coach Matt LaFleur announced, per NFL.com.
- WR Matthew Golden (shoulder/foot): did not participate Monday or Tuesday.
- OL Sean Rhyan (ankle) and G/T Travis Glover (knee): did not participate either day.
- G Aaron Banks (knee/toe): limited both days.
- DT Devonte Wyatt (ankle) and DT Anthony Campbell (ankle): upgraded from out Monday to limited Tuesday.
- EDGE Brenton Cox Jr. (quad): limited Tuesday.
- CB Benjamin St-Juste (hamstring): full both days.
The offensive line is the thing to watch. With Rhyan and Glover out of practice and Banks limited, Green Bay could be shuffling up front.
There's also a longer-range note. Micah Parsons (knee), who hasn't played this season, could return to practice next week. Asked if that was possible, LaFleur said, "I sure hope so," per NFL.com.
Carolina
- OLB Jaelan Phillips (hamstring), G Damien Lewis (knee), OL Torricelli Simpkins III (ankle) and CB Akayleb Evans (triceps/knee): did not participate Monday or Tuesday.
- DT Bobby Brown III (hand): upgraded to full Tuesday.
- WR Jalen Coker (shoulder): upgraded to full Tuesday.
- QB Bryce Young (knee): full both days.
The Panthers also put OT Taylor Moton on injured reserve, per NFL.com. With Moton out and Lewis and Simpkins not practicing, Carolina's line is thin too.
What to watch
Both offensive lines are banged up, which makes the pass rush matchups the story of the night. Phillips is Carolina's most important name on the list. If he can't go, Green Bay's patched-up line gets a break.
We'll update this when Wednesday's final statuses are posted.
